Suspect, 25, booked in February bar fight

A 25-year-old man accused of hitting another man with his car in the parking lot of The Endzone bar on Feb. 23 after the two fought inside the bar has been arrested.

Baton Rouge police booked Brandon Williams, 6193 Sumrall Drive, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of aggravated second-degree battery and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Williams and the victim had to be separated during an altercation inside the bar, and Williams left, but stayed in the parking lot, waiting for the victim to leave the bar, the arrest warrant says.

When the victim left the bar at 1 a.m., Williams drove a green Honda Accord through the parking lot, striking several parked cars before hitting the victim, the warrant says.

The victim was thrown into the air and lost consciousness when he hit the ground, the warrant says. He also sustained injuries to his head and shoulders.

Police arrest man, 24, in fatal car crash

Baton Rouge police arrested on Monday a 24-year-old man who is accused of causing a car wreck on Airline Highway Friday morning that left one woman dead.

Thomas Moore III, 6424 Dutton Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of hit-and-run, driver’s license required and failure to yield on a lane change.

The crash occurred at 9516 Airline Highway at 8:10 a.m. Friday.

Lahisha Walls, 37, 12487 Robbie Ave., was driving north on Airline Highway during the morning rush hour when a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo changed into Walls’ lane without looking, Cpl. Don Coppola, a police spokesman, said.

Walls swerved into the median to avoid hitting the car, but ended up going over the median and into the southbound lanes where her vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler, Coppola said. Moore did not stop after forcing Walls off the road, he said.

Police received an anonymous tip that Moore was driving the Monte Carlo at the time of the wreck, Coppola said.
