A 57-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, accused of stabbing his sister’s boyfriend in the chest, an affidavit of probable cause says.

Alvin David Clay went to the man’s house at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after the man told him not to return to his residence, the affidavit says.

A witness told authorities Clay stabbed the man without provocation, the affidavit says. Doctors who treated the victim told authorities the man suffered a 28-inch-long and 3-inch-wide cut to the chest.

Clay, 2855 Jackson Ave., was booked into Parish Prison on a count of attempted second-degree murder.
