Police arrested a Baton Rouge woman after her 1-year-old son tested positive Wednesday for amphetamines at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Hospital staff called Baton Rouge Police and told detectives that Lakisha Ross, 33, brought in her son because “he wasn’t acting like himself,” the Baton Rouge Police report says.

Blood and urine tests revealed the boy had amphetamines in his system, the report says.

Police arrested Ross, but she told investigators her son was in her care all day and that she doesn’t know how drugs could have gotten into his system.

Ross was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of cruelty to juveniles.
