Police arrested a Baton Rouge man a month after he was accused of choking a woman.

The victim told Baton Rouge Police she and Eric James Tidwell, 39, got into an argument at home, and that Tidwell choked her afterward, the police report says.

While choking her, Tidwell repeatedly slapped and punched her in the face. The victim told police she bit Tidwell in an attempt to escape his grasp, the report says, and once she broke free, Tidwell kicked her in the leg.

The victim said she and Tidwell had been living together for two years.

Tidwell confirmed there had been fight, the report says. He told police he and the victim constantly argued and that “he has had enough of her this time,” the report says.

Tidwell, 631 Lakeland Drive West, was booked Tuesday night into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of domestic abuse battery with strangulation.
