Baton Rouge police on Monday arrested 23-year-old man accused in the Sept. 14 shooting and wounding of two men behind Reggie’s Bar in Tigerland.

Police booked Jerome Verret, 3026 Monroe Ave., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, prison records show.

No bail has been set.

During an argument at about 2:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Bob Pettit Boulevard, Verret pulled out a pistol and shot a 23-year-old man in the right leg and a 20-year-old man in the abdomen, police have said.

There was a rumor immediately after the shooting that the victims were LSU football players, but police have said that was not true.

Both victims are recovering.
