An arrest has been made in the Sept. 22 death of a 30-year-old woman found near a motel trash bin with a shoestring tied around her neck, a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman said.
Details about the arrest will be released later Monday, Sgt. Don Stone said.
Autopsy results released Sept. 23 show that Kristin Lynn Granier, 304 S. 17th St., was strangled, police have said.
Granier’s body was found just before 8 a.m. Thursday lying next to a trash bin in the back parking lot of the Motel 6 at 9901 Gwenadele Ave..
A T-shirt had been pulled over Granier’s face and a shoestring had been tied around her neck, police have said.
Investigators determined that Granier was not a guest of the motel and that she was working as a prostitute near the business prior to being killed.
