No one was injured in a Saturday night fire that caused moderate damage to the Baton Rouge home, the St. George Fire Department reported.
The fire at 8346 Barnett Road was reported at 7:46 p.m. when a neighbor said he saw smoke coming from a window in the home. Fire trucks arrived six minutes later and saw smoke and fire coming from the home, St. George reported.
The fire was declared under control at 8:36 p.m.
St. George reported that neither of the two occupants were home at the time of the fire.
The fire, smoke and water caused moderate damage. The utilities to the home were disconnected.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under investigation.
