BR teenager charged in man’s June 3 death
Police arrested a teenager Monday in the June 3 shooting death of Henry Thomas, 34, a police spokesman said.
Jornell J. Keelen, 17, 2632 Eaton St., is accused of fatally shooting Thomas during a drug-related attempted robbery in the 4600 block of Bradley St., Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.
Keelen was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
At the time of his arrest, Keelen was free on bail in an attempted second-degree murder case. A trial for that case is set for October.
Authorities arrest 2 on suspicion of DWI
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
• Daniel Contreras, 24, 4521 Southpark Drive, first-offense DWI, failure to maintain control, driver’s license required and operating a vehicle without a lawful presence in the United States.
• Jimmy Bell, 45, 464 Rue De LaPlace, first-offense DWI, resisting an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle, seat belt violation and first-degree vehicular negligent injuring.
