A vacant house was intentionally set on fire Thursday on North 16th Street, said Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte.

Firefighters arrived at the unoccupied house at 640 North 16th St. around 2:20 p.m. to find the rear wall on fire, Monte said. The blaze spread to the attic before it was brought under control within 10 minutes.

No one was injured in the fire, but Baton Rouge police and Emergency Medical Services were on scene, he said.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Baton Rouge Fire Investigators at 225-354-1419.
