Baton Rouge Police arrested a man accused of attempted forcible rape, alleging he lured a woman into his apartment under false pretenses on Monday

Darrel Gilmore, 42, had invited the woman to his apartment on East Brookstown Drive to have a drink with him and his wife, according to a police report.

The woman entered his apartment, but tried to leave when she realized there was no other woman there, the report says.

Gilmore fought to stop her from leaving, and when she forced her way out of the residence, Gilmore chased after her and ultimately grabbed her by the throat and between her legs, the report says.

Gilmore, of 3700 E. Brookstown Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of attempted forcible rape and false imprisonment.
