Update: 8:55 p.m.

A 35-year-old man was shot to death Saturday evening at a north Baton Rouge apartment complex on Cadillac Street, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead on the scene, said Baton Rouge police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely.

The shooting, which took place around 5:35 p.m., remains under investigation, McKneely said.
As a couple dozen neighbors looked on, investigators with the Coroner’s Office removed the man’s body from a unit at the Zion Terrace apartment complex at 5958 Cadillac St.

A woman could be seen detained in the backseat of a police cruiser.

“It wasn’t my fault!” she yelled from the car.

A man who lives in the complex and asked not to be named said the man who was shot and the woman police detained lived together in an apartment and frequently argued.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
