A car full of children was shot at on Scenic Highway in early March, and on Tuesday, police arrested two men accused in the shooting.

According to a police report, Travis Bell, 21, fired the guns while Eddie Isadore, also 21, drove their vehicle as they chased a woman and her children on Scenic Highway in the early morning hours of March 7.

The woman told police she was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry rental car at about 2 a.m. while her 4, 8 and 9-year-old children sat as passengers in the car’s back seat. At some point, she noticed a grey Dodge Charger following her in “a suspicious manner,” the police report says, prompting her to make a U-turn.

The woman told police she noticed the Dodge followed her after the turn and soon caught up to her car. The Dodge was in the lane next to her when its passenger window was rolled down, revealing Bell as the passenger and Isadore as the driver, the report says.

Bell then pointed a gun at the woman, which caused her to speed up, the report says.

The woman’s car was soon struck with multiple bullets, one of which hit a tire, causing her to lose control of the car and crash into a pole, the report says.

The vehicle chasing her then fled the scene. Neither the woman nor her children were injured in the crash.

The report didn’t make clear how the woman knew the men arrested in the shooting.

Bell, of 1515 LaSalle St., Apt. Q, New Orleans, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Isadore, of 4888 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, was booked on counts of principal to attempted second-degree murder, booking records show.
