The East Baton Rouge District Attorney on Friday will present the results of his investigation into the officer-involved shooting death of Brandon Wiley, who was killed in a March 2017 scuffle in which a deputy also died.

District Attorney Hillar Moore announced Thursday evening that he will discuss the report at 10:30 a.m. Friday in City Hall. After the presentation, the report will be available at

The deadly encounter happened on March 18, 2017, when East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Deputy Shawn Anderson and another unnamed deputy went to Classic Cuts hair salon on O'Neal Lane to investigate a rape case. A 15-year-old girl had accused Wiley, 30, of rape.

After deputies arrived, an altercation ensued and Anderson was killed on the scene. Wiley was taken to a hospital where he died days later.

The report on the incident notes that Wiley resisted deputies and he was "taken to a local hospital for injuries sustained due to his resisting an arrest and handcuffing." There is no mention of the shooting of Anderson in the report.
