Sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of shooting his girlfriend’s relative after dropping him off in the 6600 block of Hanks Drive on Monday night.
Jeron Durroh, of 1930 Rhodes Ave., had argued with the victim earlier in the night but, along with another, unidentified man, offered the victim a ride home, an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report says.
The 34-year-old victim, identified as a relative of Durroh’s girlfriend, began walking toward his house after being dropped off when the unidentified man called him back to the vehicle, the report says.
At that point, multiple shots were fired from the passenger side of the vehicle, the report says. The victim, wounded in the shooting, ran to a nearby business to seek help.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive the shooting, the report says.
Deputies booked Durroh into Parish Prison on Tuesday on counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. His bail is set at $90,000, according to jail records.
