Police: Man touched girls inappropriately

A Baton Rouge man was arrested and booked into Parish Prison on Sunday after two children, one a 6-year-old girl, said he touched them inappropriately and made other advances toward them.

Reginald Romale Augustus, 23, of 3104 Boyd Avenue, was booked Sunday on counts of indecent behavior with juveniles.

Augustus’ alleged crime came to light in August when the mother of one of the victims was talking about Augustus and mentioned that he never had a girlfriend, according to a Baton Rouge police report.

“Reginald does have a girlfriend. I am his girlfriend,” said the woman’s 6-year-old daughter, according to the report.

The mother then asked if Augustus had ever touched her, and the 6-year-old girl said he touched her inappropriately while she was wearing pajamas, the report says. The girl also told a detective in December that Augustus once took her hand and placed it between his legs, according to the report.

A 10-year-old girl who lived in the same home told the adults that Augustus slept under the same blanket with her and touched her inappropriately over her clothes, police said. She later told a detective that he once touched her on the inside of her pajama pants and on top of her underwear, according to the report. The 10-year-old said she told Augustus to stop, which he did, but she never told anyone because she did not want him to get in trouble, police said.

Augustus is being held in Parish Prison and his bail is set at $25,000.
