Two men were wounded Saturday when gunfire erupted in the 6700 block of Rio Drive, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff’s deputies found one man shot in the leg after the Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls around 8:45 a.m. about gunfire in the area, spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said.

Shortly after, deputies found another man, also shot in the leg.

“It is possible they each shot the other, but (that is) still under investigation,” Hicks said.

Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

The area where the shooting happened is near the intersection of Greenwell Springs Road and Silverleaf Avenue.
