Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of raping a woman and then telling two other men they could rape her while they were all at his home last month.

Jah Lura Patterson, 35, offered the woman a ride to his home after they both attended a party in East Baton Rouge Parish, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

When they arrived at the Ellis Drive home on Nov. 17, they used cocaine and drank mushroom tea, and then Patterson asked to have sex without a condom, which the woman refused, the affidavit states.

Patterson then raped her and told two men at the house they could rape her, according to the affidavit.

Deputies were alerted after the woman was found banging on doors in the neighborhood, trying to get help.

The affidavit does not say whether the other two assailants have been identified.

Patterson, 16730 Ellis Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked Saturday into Parish Prison on a count of aggravated rape.

Teenager admits to opening fire on three

Sheriff’s deputies arrested an 18-year-old man accused of three counts of attempted murder after deputies say he pulled up to a group of men standing on Kilona Drive and exchanged gunfire with them last month.

Maleke Hynard told deputies on Friday that he wanted to get back at an assailant for breaking into his friend’s car and stealing a gun, according to the affidavit of probable cause. One day after the burglary, Hynard told deputies that, in retaliation, he drove to the 5600 block of Kilona Drive and, as soon as he stepped out of his car, he opened fire on three men standing in the carport, the affidavit says. One of the men returned fire, and after the shots were exchanged, Hynard jumped back in his car and drove away, the affidavit says.

The affidavit does not mention whether anyone was injured.

Hynard, 5720 Sunset Hill Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked Saturday into Parish Prison on counts of attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
