A 22-year-old man accused of grabbing a woman while she was getting her mail, shoving her back into the house where she lived and raping her on the couch was arrested on Friday.
Daunte Deshon Sullivan is accused of running up behind a 17-year-old woman who was getting her mail around 10 a.m. on Jan. 19, pushing her back into the house where she lived and raping her in the living room, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department report.
Sullivan ran out of the house afterward, and the victim called police.
The victim’s five-year-old brother and 82-year-old grandmother were inside the house during the assault, the report says.
The 17-year-old submitted to a sexual assault exam at Woman’s Hospital, and the State Police crime lab notified police Thursday that the DNA gathered positively matched the known DNA of Sullivan, the report says.
Sullivan, 6023 Victory Drive, was booked into Parish Prison on first-degree rape and home invasion.
