A Baton Rouge woman was killed Sunday when a pickup truck struck her car as she made a right turn, a Police Department spokesman said.
Patricia Wilson, 56, was driving a 2013 Honda Accord around 4:40 p.m. when a pickup truck hit her car as she turned right from Winbourne Avenue onto the 7300 block of Airline Highway, Baton Rouge Police Cpl. Don Coppola said.
Wilson, of 3762 Baton Rouge Ave., died later at a hospital, he said.
The 42-year-old male driver of the pickup, a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado, was headed south on Airline Highway and disregarded a traffic light when he struck Wilson’s car, Coppola said.
The Chevrolet’s driver, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital with serious injures after the crash, Coppola said. He did not say whether the truck’s driver was cited or tested for impairment.
The crash is still under investigation.
