Baton Rouge police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Sunday night on North Lobdell Boulevard.

Just before 10 p.m., 40-year-old James Stockton, 2121 North Lobdell Blvd. was shot and killed outside of his apartment door, Police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.

Stockton got into an argument with his 48-year-old brother-in-law and roommate during a family party.

Stockton’s brother-in-law is accused of shooting Stockton multiple times as he walked out of the apartment with his family to leave and running off before police arrived, McKneely said.
