Gunshots were fired in Tigerland early Sunday morning, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Cpl. L'Jean McKneely.

Around 1:50 a.m. a man fired multiple gunshots into the air when he stepped outside the bars, McKneely said.

Officers were expecting large crowds in the area and already had officers working near the college bars after LSU swept Auburn Saturday afternoon, McKneely said. Though officers tried to detain him, the man managed to flee on foot.

Mckneely said he did not know what led to the gunshots or if the man was intoxicated, but confirmed no was one injured from the gunshots.
