A Baton Rouge man was arrested Wednesday after rear-ending a vehicle, then fleeing the scene and crashing into second vehicle, State Police reported.
Derrick Ford, 52, rear-ended a vehicle on Jefferson Highway north of Woodlawn High School around 9 a.m. Wednesday, a State Police report says. As Ford drove away, he rear-ended another vehicle on Jefferson Highway at Barringer Foreman Road.
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies found Ford at a house on Chairman Avenue later that day, the report says. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he refused to submit blood and was arrested.
Ford was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of first-offense DWI, two counts of hit and run, and two counts of careless operation. He remains in jail on a $8,500 bond.
