What started Monday as a sexual encounter ended with a bullet to a man’s face, and a woman’s arrest on an attempted murder count.
A man told police he was trying to have sex with a woman in an apartment at 1001 Aster St., when she shot him in the head about 3:10 a.m., according to a Baton Rouge Police report.
The man suffered a single gunshot wound above his left eye and was taken to a hospital, the report says.
A trail of blood indicated the shooting happened at the apartment of Quinyana D. Jackson, 25, whose mail and other identifying documents were found inside the residence, according to the report.
Jackson had fled the scene by the time police arrived.
Witnesses told authorities that a group, including the victim and Jackson, had been in an apartment drinking when Jackson and the man went upstairs to her residence, the report says.
About five minutes later, the witnesses heard a gunshot, and moments later, the man descended and said, “She shot me in the face.”
Police found a .22 caliber handgun with one spent round inside Jackson’s apartment, the report says. Authorities tried to contact Jackson several times, and during one call, Jackson told an officer she couldn’t talk and hung up, according to the report.
The document says Jackson was convicted of armed robbery in 2008.
Jackson, who faces counts of attempted second-degree murder and carrying a firearm by a convicted felon, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Bail was set at $250,000, according to jail records.
