An Ascension Parish man was sentenced Friday to 50 years in prison on his conviction of molesting a child in 2013, according to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

A jury on Sept. 18 found Henry Lewis, 45, guilty on one count of molestation of a juvenile, and Friday, he was sentenced to hard labor with the Department of Public Safety Corrections for 50 years, half of which will be served without the benefit of parole, according to a news release from the District Attorney’s Office.

Lewis was convicted of molesting a girl between Sept. 28 and Sept. 30, 2013, when she and her sibling were visiting him for an overnight stay, according to the release.
