Baton Rouge police detectives are looking for a man who on Sunday night walked through the front door of an Auto Zone in Baton Rouge armed with a handgun and walked off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The armed robbery occurred around 7:54 p.m. Sunday at the Auto Zone at 10418 Florida Blvd. The suspect demanded money from the safe and registers and then fled on foot, said Cpl. Don Coppola, spokesman for the Baton Rouge Police Department.

No one was hurt, Coppola said.

Coppola described the suspect as a dark skinned black male, slim build around 130 pounds, 5-feet 8-inches tall, wearing a dark colored hooded jacket and dark jeans, and who used a mesh type material covering the lower portion of his face during the robbery.
