Authorities on Wednesday found guns, cash and nearly 25 pounds of marijuana at the home of a Baton Rouge man they arrested and accused of selling drugs.
Baton Rouge police conducted surveillance for several hours on the home of Sittipong Jitarun, 31, according to the arrest report. When he opened his door, officers smelled the “very strong, unmistakable odor” of marijuana emanating from the home on 9050 Eastbank Drive, the arrest report says.
During a search of the home, detectives found 28 bags of marijuana, four rifles, a pistol, 248 grams of THC wax, 8 grams of cocaine, 45 hydrocodone pills, a digital scale and $10,460 in cash, police said.
Jitarun told detectives he sells marijuana and that the stockpile of drugs belongs to him, the arrest report says.
Jitarun was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hydrocodone with intent to distribute, possession of THC wax with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances.
Prescription drug case lands woman in jail
East Baton Rouge sheriff’s deputies on Thursday arrested a 49-year-old woman accused of trying to fraudulently buy prescription drugs at a Baton Rouge pharmacy.
Airline Jackson in April went to the Rite Aid pharmacy at 3433 Government St. with a fake prescription for 120 oxycodone tablets, according to the arrest warrant. A pharmacist told her, however, that he could not fill the prescription because it was after the doctor’s regular office hours, police said.
The Baton Rouge doctor contacted the authorities after he learned Jackson had falsely claimed his office had given her a prescription for the drugs, the warrant says.
Jackson, 334 Canonius St., was booked into Parish Prison on Thursday on counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.
