DONALDSONVILLE — Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested a third suspect in the Oct. 23 shooting death of a Donaldsonville man, according to jail records.

Jarmaine Gibson, 31, also known as "Big G," of Donaldsonville, was booked into the Ascension Parish jail Thursday on counts of second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons and possession of a firearm by a felony, online Ascension Parish jail records show.

Two other men, Shawn Burd , 27, of Plattenville and Theophilus Joseph, 37, of Donaldsonville were arrested and booked into jail on Monday. Burd was booked on a count of principal to second-degree murder and Joseph on a count of second-degree murder and other counts, including possession of a firearm by a felon, the Sheriff's Office said earlier this week.

The victim, Sylvester Leblanc , 24, was shot on Third Street in Donaldsonville on the night of Oct. 23. He was taken to a hospital and died a short time later, the Sheriff's Office said.
