A Baton Rouge woman was arrested Wednesday and accused of firing a gun March 8 into a crowd of people outside a strip club, striking one man.

Cassietta Carter, 25, was driving past Dancer’s Men’s Club and Sports Bar at 5755 Airline Highway when she fired the weapon into a group of people, wounding a man in his knee, according to an arrest warrant.

Witnesses took down the car’s license plate number as the shooter fled, and detectives tracked the plate back to Carter, according to the warrant. Authorities later caught up with Carter, and the victim identified her as the shooter in the March 8 incident, police said.

Carter, 14619 Forest Grove Ave., was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on a count of attempted first-degree murder.
