PLAQUEMINE — Police late Saturday were looking for a 25-year-old man accused of shooting a man at a Court Street house earlier in the day after a feud over social media got out of hand.
Evan Franklin is accused of shooting 22-year-old Deontrel Street in the shoulder and pointing a gun at Street’s brother outside their parents’ home in the 58400 block of Court Street, Plaquemine Police Chief Kenny Payne said
Franklin arrived outside the house and called the victims over to his white pickup truck, pointing a gun at Street’s brother before shooting Street in the shoulder around 3:30 p.m., Payne said.
The bullet only grazed Street’s shoulder, Payne said, and he was taken to the hospital before police arrived. He said the injury is not considered life threatening.
Franklin is wanted on attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm, Payne said.
