Police are looking for a 17-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting two children, ages 8 and 13, inside a Baton Rouge apartment July 6.

Tyrin Colbert was spending the night in an apartment on North Ardenwood Drive with the two boys, and they had fallen asleep in the 8-year-old’s bedroom, the warrant says.

The 8-year-old woke up to Colbert attempting to rape him, and started screaming. His screams woke the 13-year-old, who then pushed Colbert off the younger boy.

Colbert grabbed the 13-year-old by the arm and tried to pull his pants down, the warrant says. The 13-year-old fought him off, though, and the two victims escaped.

A few days later the victims told the 8-year-old boy’s mother what happened, the warrant says.

Baton Rouge Police interviewed the boys independently, and the mother confirmed Colbert had spent the night there July 6.

A judge issued a warrant for Colbert’s arrest Wednesday.

Colbert, 8251 Skysail St., is wanted on a count of sexual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and a count of simple battery, and he remains at large.
