A convicted felon zipping through West Baton Rouge Parish at 116 mph wound up in jail after a state trooper pulled him over and discovered four handguns along with an illegal drug, State Police said.
David Thompson, 37, of Zachary, was spotted Saturday speeding down U.S. 190 in a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck at more than 50 mph over the speed limit, the State Police said in a post on Facebook.
Thompson’s young son also was in the truck, according to the post.
A trooper located three 9 mm handguns, a .45-caliber handgun and two MDMA pills, an illegal drug, the State Police post says.
Troopers arrested Thompson and booked him into West Baton Rouge Parish Jail on counts of reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of MDMA, possession of a firearm with a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
