Teenager arrested in armed robbery

A teen accused in an armed robbery of three people Sunday night near Curtis and Somerset streets has been arrested.

Jaquan Johnson, 17, 2172 68th Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked Sunday with armed robbery, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.

The three victims were walking near Curtis Street at Somerset Street when they saw a red vehicle driving near them, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Johnson, who was riding in the vehicle, asked the victims where they lived, the affidavit says.

The vehicle’s driver let Johnson and another man out of a vehicle as the victims continued to walk on, the affidavit says.

Johnson and the other man ran into nearby bushes until the victims passed, the affidavit says, when the pair jumped out and robbed the victims at gunpoint.
