WATSON — State troopers searched Saturday for a vehicle that hit a 17-year-old pedestrian in Watson late Friday and fled the scene, according to a State Police release.
Justin Beck was walking his bicycle along the shoulder of La. 16 near Wildwood Road about 10 p.m. when he was hit from behind, the release says.
Beck remains in a hospital with serious injuries, the release says.
Troopers do not know what type of vehicle struck Beck, but it will have damage to the front right portion, the release says.
The hit-and-run vehicle was traveling north on La 16 sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the release says.
Trooper are asking anyone with any information that could help this investigation to call (225) 754-8500.
“No piece of information should be considered insignificant, as troopers will follow all leads in an effort to bring this case to closure and get answers for Beck’s family and friends,” Trooper 1st Class Russell Graham said in the release.
