A Baton Rouge man and woman were arrested Wednesday in the Feb. 9 armed robbery of two people in the parking lot of the Cousins Food Mart on Airline Highway, police said.

Robin Banks, 24, and Wesley Turner, 23, are accused of pulling handguns on the two victims around midnight outside of the store, at 6288 Airline Highway, and robbing them of cash, valuables and identification, according to the arrest report.

Both victims were hit on the head with a handgun by the assailants, the report says. Banks and Turner took $300 cash, a cellphone, purse, pair of Nike tennis shoes, official identification and credit cards from the two victims, the report says.

A third person joined Banks and Turner in the robbery, but police have yet to identify that person.

Turner and Banks, 5219 Hammond St., were booked into Parish Prison on two counts of armed robbery.
