A Baton Rouge man was arrested on a count of second-degree rape Friday after a DNA analysis linked him to a sexual assault, police said.
Tevin Jerelle Rogers, 22, threatened to punch a woman who started screaming when he got on top of her inside a Baton Rouge residence on Dec. 10, according to a Baton Rouge police warrant.
Rogers raped the woman, the report said, and warned her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The woman reported the assault to police on Dec. 11 and had a sexual assault examination performed on her, the statement said.
A forensic analysis, which was delivered on March 8, confirmed Rogers’ DNA was found on a private area of the woman’s body. Rogers denied having any sexual relations with the woman, according to the report.
Rogers, of 6025 Timbercreek Ave., was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. His bond does not appear to have been set, according to jail records.
