Baton Rouge police are investigating a shooting in Tigerland early Sunday that left two men with non-life threatening injuries, a police spokesman said.

The shooting occurred at about 3 a.m. in the 4400 block of Alvin Dark Avenue, behind Reggie’s, a popular bar among college students, spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., said.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 20-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, Coppola said. Both were taken to a hospital for treatement.

Police suspect there was an argument between the two victims and others that led to the shooting, Coppola said. It is unclear if there was one or multiple shooters.

There was a rumor Sunday morning that the two victims were LSU football players, but that is untrue, Coppola said.
