Baker Police arrested the 19-year-old driver of a car containing five juvenile passengers, one of whom fired a handgun toward a Baker house Saturday night.
Demarcus Kimble, of 5656 Autumn Blossom Drive, drove a Buick sedan down Heath Drive in Baker about 10 p.m. Saturday when one of his passengers pointed a handgun at a house and fired a single round, a Baker Police report says.
A 911 caller contacted police and “maintained a line of sight” on the car until police were able to stop the car, the report says.
Police detained Kimble and the five passengers in the car, all of whom are under the age of 17, the report says.
Detectives determined that Kimble was driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting and booked him into Parish Prison on counts of principal to assault by drive-by shooting, principal to illegal use of a firearm and five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The report does not say whether Baker Police were able to identify the passenger who fired the weapon or if any of the juveniles were arrested.
Bail for Kimble, who remained in jail Sunday afternoon, had not been set.
