A man was shot and injured after two individuals fired shots at 6680 Hanks Drive on Tuesday evening, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
Emergency Medical Services responded to a 911 call about a shooting on Hanks Drive, EMS spokesman Mike Chustz said, but found no victim at the scene. Hicks said investigators received information that a friend drove the shooting victim to a hospital or clinic.
EMS was later called to the LSU Health Baton Rouge Urgent North Clinic, where they picked up a man with a gunshot wound to the leg and transported him to a hospital around 6:30 p.m. However, neither Chustz nor Hicks could confirm if the man at the clinic is the same person injured on Hanks Drive.
The shooting remains under investigation, Hicks said.
