Baton Rouge police identified 39-year-old Michael Jerome Collins on Thursday as the primary suspect in a fatal Sept. 14 shooting, spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said.
Collins, 1500 N. 23rd St., is suspected of shooting 28-year-old Levi Alexander to death, leaving him lying in the road in the 1700 block of North 23rd Street with multiple gunshot wounds, Coppola said.
Alexander, who was discovered by police at about 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 14, was pronounced dead at the scene.
