Firefighters are investigating a house fire that occurred early Tuesday morning at 4514 Woodlyn Drive near Coursey Boulevard, according to a Baton Rouge Fire Department news release.
The call came in reporting the fire at 3:50 a.m., the release says.
Preliminary information indicates the fire was accidental and foul play is not suspected, the release says.
The fire began in the master bathroom and quickly spread to the bedroom and attic above. The rest of the home received heavy smoke and water damage.
The residents were not home at the time of the blaze and no one was injured, the release says.
American Red Cross officials assisted the residents when they arrived after the fire was put out, the release says.
