A 73-year-old man was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon when he drove his pickup into the side of a passing tractor-trailor on U.S. 61 in St. Francisville, State Police reported.

Felix Lipoma, of Gonzales, was pulling out of a driveway to head north on U.S. 61 when he collided with the rear wheels of a passing tractor-trailer driven by John McDonald, of Woodville, Mississippi, said Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer, a State Police spokesman.

The pickup then flipped over several times and came to rest in the shoulder of the highway, Sandifer said. Lipoma was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the accident, Sandifer said.
