Authorities are offering a $1,500 reward to help identify who shot and killed a cow on a ranch along La. 402 in Assumption Parish.

The Wednesday afternoon attack marks the second recent cow shooting at the Napoleonville ranch, said Deputy Robert Martin, an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

“The first time, the cow survived. This one, not so much,” he said.

Anyone with information on the attacks may contact the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 526-1627 or the Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission at (800) 558-9741.
