Baton Rouge Police arrested a 24-year-old convicted felon Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl several years ago.
The warrant for Jeremy Robertson Jr., last known address 724 N. 22nd St., alleges that he sexually abused the now 14-year-old victim between 2007 and 2009.
The victim told detectives on Wednesday that Robertson had inappropriately rubbed and touched her on a number of occasions and that the abuse ended only when Robertson was arrested and sent to jail, the warrant says. Robertson was booked into Parish Prison Thursday on counts of sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
During an interview with detectives, the girl said she’s “extremely terrified” of Robertson “because he is known to be a violent felon,” the warrant says.
According to court records, Robertson has been arrested numerous times, including in March 2009 for domestic abuse battery, which Robertson pleaded guilty to and was sentenced to six months in prison.
A judge in 2013 sentenced Robertson to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possession of stolen firearms.
According to court records, Robertson was free on bail after a Sept. 30 arrest on counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.
