A 27-year-old man was transported to a hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds after police found him in a motel parking lot early Tuesday morning.

Baton Rouge police are investigating the shooting, which took place at 4:30 a.m. in the Southside Motel parking lot at 1754 Thomas Delpit Drive, the police report says.

Police do not know the motive for the shooting and have no suspects currently, the report says.
