A home on Annette Street in Baton Rouge is a total loss after a fire early Wednesday morning.

Two residents escaped the home safely, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported shortly before 5 a.m. in the 5300 block of Annette Street. When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and the roof collapsed shortly after, Monte said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but Monte said foul play is not suspected.
