The Lafayette Police Department released the The Grand 16 Theatre back to its owners Monday, completing their investigation at the site of last week's mass shooting, said Lafayette Police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton.
The theater has been closed to the public since Thursday's mass shooting that left three dead, including the gunman, and nine injured when shots were fired during a showing of the movie "Trainwreck."
Mouton said three of the nine injured victims remain hospitalized.
Mouton also said investigators found a journal in gunman John "Russell" Houser's hotel room. The journal is under review and no information is avaliable yet.
Investigators will meet with the city attorney tomorrow to discuss 911 calls reporting the shooting and the incident's initial report, Mouton said.
