An accidental fire erupted Sunday night at the smokehouse adjacent to Frank’s Restaurant in Baton Rouge, causing $35,000 in damage to the smokehouse.

Firefighters arrived at the Airline Highway business, known best for selling smoked meat, at around 9 p.m. Sunday to find fire coming from a storage room, said Mark Miles, a Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman.

Firefighters contained the damage to that room, but the rest of the building received some smoke damage. The cause is undetermined, but no foul play is suspected, Miles said.

The adjacent Frank’s Restaurant was not affected by the fire.
