East Feliciana officials were still waiting Wednesday to find out what caused the death of Kimberly Ann Howe whose body was found Sunday in a wooded area near the intersection of Nesom Road and La. 63.

East Feliciana Coroner Michael Cramer said he was still working on Howe's autopsy and is waiting for toxicology and other test results before he can make a final determination. He expects to release results next week.

Howe, 41, whose identity was released Wednesday by the Sheriff's Office, was found dead around 11 a.m. after a woman reported seeing something suspicious on the property, Sheriff Jeff Travis said.

Travis on Sunday called the death "suspicious".

Travis said all records indicate Howe was not a resident of East Feliciana Parish. He said her driver's license listed her address in Prairieville, but investigators could not confirm that location.

The investigation continues into how her body arrived on Nesom Road.

Travis asked anyone with information about Howe's death to notify the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office at (225) 683-5459.
