Authorities have arrested the driver in the Monday shooting at 10870 Cherry Hill Drive, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.

The shooter is still at large, the release says.

Arturo Nunez Cerno, 25, has been booked with principal to attempted second-degree murder and principal to illegal discharge of a firearm, the release says.

According to reports, Cerno drove the accused shooter to the victim’s home and stood by while the shooter shot a 27-year-old man multiple times Monday afternoon. Cerno and the shooter then drove off, the release says.

Detectives canvassed the area and were able to identify Cerno, the release says.

Detectives are still attempting to identify the shooter.

Cerno was located in the 5800 block of Quida Mae Drive, the release says.

The victim, who was sitting in his backyard when he was shot, is currently in stable condition, the release says.
