Baton Rouge Police identified the driver who was killed early Saturday when his Cadillac drifted off Airline Highway and crashed into a pole.
Todd Allen, 51, 12205 LaMargie Ave., was heading south in his 2000 Cadillac Deville in the 10200 block of Airline Highway about 4:00 a.m., when hit the traffic-light pole, police said.
When officers arrived, Allen was unresponsive and injured from the crash. Emergency Medical Services workers pronounced him dead at the scene.
Allen was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Saturday
Traffic Homicide Division is investigating the case.
